| Toothbrush of the year Oral-B CrossAction® Power as product of the year 2004 The trade association of plastic consumer goods (FVKK) has chosen Braun’s Oral-B CrossAction® Power electric toothbrush as product of the year 2004 in the category “General Requirements”. The Material The handle is made of BASF’s plastic material Luran® S and is available in blue, magenta, purple or green. The shades were developed exclusively for these toothbrushes by the ColorCompetenceCenter of BASF in line with the designers’ wishes. Luran® S is especially suitable for this application owing to its chemical and impact resistance. The plastic is an ASA (acrylonitrile/styrene/acrylate copolymer) and belongs to the specialty range of styrenic plastics produced by BASF. Background Information The competition “Product of the Year” has been held for 25 years. The FVKK awards the prize to new plastic consumer goods, thereby promoting innovations in the plastics industry.
