Our expert in Boron chemistry is a well-traveled person: Dr. Karl Matos, R&D Manager for BASF in Evans City, PA has presented and discussed advantages Boron reagents provide to modern organic synthesis in many industrial R&D facilities as well as on scientific conferences all over the world. Consequently, he was chosen to present at the first BASF Webseminar on Boron Chemistry last November to reach an even broader audience to discuss “The Suzuki Reaction: New Strategies for the Synthesis of Borane Coupling Partners”. In two sessions a total of more than 60 chemists from large pharmaceutical corporations all the way to academia were logged into the 45 minute-long interactive sessions and used the opportunity to listen to Karl’s presentation first hand and ask many challenging questions.

"It is amazing that you can bring together scientists from all regions and 10 different countries to discuss latest developments in chemistry, and nobody has to leave the office." Karl Matos, Research & Development Manager, Evans City, PA
"It is amazing that you can bring together scientists from all regions and 10 different countries to discuss latest developments in chemistry, and nobody has to leave the office," said Karl Matos. "These interactive presentations are always a source of inspiration – for our customers and for BASF."
"We received very positive feedback from the participants. They obviously found it very convenient to participate right from their workplace and enjoyed the technical presentation as well as the Q&A session. Even weeks after the seminar we received follow-up questions by e-mail," said Sarah Schade, BASF Marketing Assistant in Evans City, PA.
